When you write, please include:
- the app version (Cài đặt › Thông tin › Giới thiệu, i.e. Settings › Information › About);
- your phone model and its iOS or Android version;
- a short description of what happened.
Please do not send video unless we ask, because it may show other people. We try to reply as soon as we can.
Safety first: do not handle the phone while the vehicle is moving. To change a setting, stop somewhere safe first. The app only assists your own observation; you are always responsible for driving. See the safety section of the Terms of Use.
Getting started
Which phones does the app run on?
- iPhone XS or later, with iOS 17 or later.
- Android 8.0 or later, with a rear camera.
Faster phones run detection more smoothly and stay cooler.
Do I need a network connection or an account?
No. The app runs entirely on the phone, even with no signal, and has no account. The phone needs a connection only to buy or restore Pro (to reach the App Store or Google Play), and if you have turned on "Chia sẻ dữ liệu biển báo" (Share sign data), to send signs at most once a day; with no connection the signs wait for the next time.
How do I mount the phone?
- Use a sturdy holder. Mount the phone in landscape, near the middle of the windscreen.
- Point the rear camera straight ahead, in the direction of travel. On iPhone, the app uses the 1× main lens.
- The phone must not block your view or an airbag. Avoid spots that get long direct sun.
- Clean the windscreen in front of the camera.
The camera needs to see the road ahead without too much of the bonnet or dashboard in the way.
Camera setup: I only enter the height
Open Thiết lập camera (Camera setup) on the home screen. You only need to enter the camera's height above the road. There are two ways:
- pick your vehicle type (for example "Sedan") and where on the windscreen the phone is mounted, and the app suggests a height;
- or measure from the ground to the phone's camera with a tape, and adjust with the plus and minus buttons.
The horizon is automatic. The app sets it when you mount the phone and keeps adjusting it while you drive. There is nothing to drag or align.
When you move the phone to another vehicle, or mount it much higher or lower, enter the height again. A correct height makes the distance to the car ahead more accurate.
Why does the app ask for these permissions?
| Permission | What it is for | If you refuse |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Recording and detection | The app cannot work |
| Microphone | Sound in the video | Video is still recorded, without sound |
| Location (only while the app is open) | Vehicle speed; time gap; lane-departure and over-speed warnings | The forward-collision warning still works, but there is no speed and no speed-based warning |
| Motion (iPhone) | Mount angle, horizon, detecting a hard impact | Setup is less accurate |
| Add to Photos (iPhone) | Copying snapshots and clips to Photos when you choose to | Snapshots and clips stay in the app |
| Local network (iPhone), nearby Wi-Fi devices (Android) | Connecting to a stand-alone dashcam | The external dashcam feature is unavailable |
No permission is used to send video, photos, sound or your route off the phone. While "Chia sẻ dữ liệu biển báo" (Share sign data) is on (on by default once you accept the Terms of Use; it can be turned off in Settings), the rounded positions (about 11 m) of the speed signs the camera read are sent. See section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
Does the screen have to stay on?
Yes. The app records and warns only while it is open on screen. If you turn the screen off or switch to another app, the drive pauses and the segment being recorded is saved. Plug in a charger on long drives, and see Heat.
While driving
What does the app warn about?
- Always free: forward-collision and following-distance warnings, with text, colours and a sound when there is danger; the lane-departure warning, with text and colour; the distance to the vehicle ahead.
- Pro: speed-limit signs on the driving screen, the over-speed warning, and the following-distance, over-speed and lane-departure alert sounds.
Without Pro, the only alert sound is the imminent-collision danger sound; the other warnings still show as text and colour (and vibration, where the phone has it). See Pro.
Can I use the minimal black screen while recording?
Yes, with Pro. On a recording drive, tap the gear on the driving screen and turn on Giao diện chỉ cảnh báo (alerts-only view): the screen switches to the minimal black view of alerts-only mode while the video keeps recording, with "ĐANG GHI" (recording) at the top. Tap Hiện đầy đủ (show full view) to go back. The choice applies to that drive only. Change it while the vehicle is stopped, or ask a passenger.
What do the marks next to a speed sign mean?
- No clock or map mark: the camera has just read the sign.
- Clock ("Lịch sử", history): your camera read this sign at this spot on earlier trips.
- Map ("Dữ liệu", data): the limit comes from the map data bundled with the app (OpenStreetMap, Mapillary, expressway speed decisions).
Every sign in the app is for reference only. Always follow the actual signs.
Why does the app's speed differ from my speedometer?
The app measures speed with GPS. Vehicle speedometers are usually set by the maker to read slightly above the true speed. In tunnels, under bridges or between tall buildings, GPS can lag or drop out. The app then shows --.
Why don't I get lane-departure warnings?
The lane-departure warning (free) needs two things:
- GPS speed, with the vehicle going fast enough;
- clearly visible lane markings.
The app draws lanes and warns only when it is confident enough. On roads without markings, in rain, or when other vehicles hide the markings, it may show nothing. The beep that goes with this warning is a Pro feature; without Pro you still get the text and colour, just no sound.
Heat
Continuous recording, AI, charging and sun through the windscreen all heat the phone. To keep it cool:
- keep the phone out of direct sun;
- remove a thick case;
- point an air-conditioning vent at the phone;
- avoid fast charging while driving;
- turn on "Chế độ trời nóng" (hot-weather mode: 720p, 24 frames per second) in Settings › Chất lượng video (Video quality).
In Settings › Nhiệt độ máy (Phone temperature), "Khi máy nóng" (When the phone is hot) has two choices:
- "Giữ hiệu năng tối đa" (Keep maximum performance, the default): the app runs at full power and shows no heat messages.
- "Tự giảm tải" (Reduce load automatically): when the phone is hot, the app temporarily reduces lane and sign detection, frame rate and recording quality to let it cool.
You can also turn on two extra options:
- "Báo khi máy nóng" (Tell me when the phone is hot);
- "Màn hình tiết kiệm" (Power-saving screen): when the phone is hot, the screen dims and shows only the essentials.
When the phone gets too hot, the operating system may slow down or stop the camera. The app then gives priority to vehicle detection and the collision warning.
Storage, clips and photos
How much space does video use?
Video is recorded in segments, on a loop. When it reaches the Dung lượng tối đa (Maximum storage) set in Settings › Ghi hình (Recording), the oldest unlocked segment is deleted first.
- "Tự động" (Automatic) uses at most 10 GB and at most 20% of free space.
- A fixed limit always leaves some space free for the phone.
What is a locked clip?
A locked clip is never deleted automatically. The app locks a clip on a hazard or a hard impact, and you can lock one yourself. A locked clip covers about 30 seconds before and 15 seconds after the event.
Lock too many clips and storage fills up. Delete the ones you no longer need in Clip & sự kiện (Clips & events).
How do I get video off the phone?
In Clip & sự kiện, pick a clip and tap Chia sẻ (Share), or Lưu vào Ảnh (Save to Photos, iPhone) or Lưu vào thư viện (Save to gallery, Android).
On iPhone, you can also connect the phone to a computer and copy the videos through File Sharing in Finder or iTunes.
The date, time and speed stamp is part of the picture. The GPS coordinate stamp appears only if you turn it on in Settings › Ghi hình › Đóng dấu lên video (Video stamp).
What happens if I delete the app?
Deleting the app deletes all videos, photos and data inside it. We have no copy to restore, so copy important clips out first. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Pro
What is free and what is in Pro?
Always free: the forward-collision and following-distance warning (text, colours and the danger sound), the lane-departure warning (text and colour), the distance to the vehicle ahead, the Chỉ cảnh báo (alerts only) mode, Camera rời (external camera), and viewing, saving and sharing clips already recorded.
Pro:
- Dash-cam recording: video of each drive, event clips, snapshots, and the date, time and speed stamp.
- Speed-limit signs on the driving screen (from the camera, "Lịch sử" history and "Dữ liệu" data) and the over-speed warning.
- The following-distance, over-speed and lane-departure alert sounds (the danger sound is always free).
- The alerts-only view during a recording drive.
The Xem thử (try a demo) button on the home screen plays a sample drive that shows every feature, Pro ones included, without a subscription. The full list is in section 7.1 of the Terms.
What is the "Chọn gói ViDash AI" screen?
This "choose your plan" screen puts Miễn phí (Free) and Pro side by side. The app shows it once, right after setup, if you do not have Pro. Tap Dùng miễn phí (use free) to carry on without paying, or Dùng thử Pro 7 ngày (try Pro for 7 days, when you are eligible for the trial) or Đăng ký Pro (subscribe). To see it again, go to Cài đặt › Gói Pro › So sánh Miễn phí và Pro (Settings › Pro › Compare Free and Pro).
How does the 7-day Pro trial work?
New subscribers can try Pro free for 7 days. It is an App Store or Google Play introductory offer: the Dùng thử Pro 7 ngày button appears only when the store says your account is eligible (it has never had an introductory offer for this subscription); otherwise the button is Đăng ký Pro.
You confirm the monthly plan in the store but are not charged yet. When the 7 days end, the plan renews automatically at 29,000 ₫ per month (the store's price applies) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Details are in section 7.4 of the Terms.
Why doesn't the free version record or show signs?
That is the line between the two tiers, not a bug: recording (video, event clips, snapshots) and on-screen speed-limit signs only work with an active Pro subscription — there is no in-app trial window for either. The forward-collision, following-distance and lane-departure warnings still run in full on the free version. The Ghi hình (Record) button on the home screen is labelled "PRO" when you are not subscribed; tapping it opens the subscription page.
Are my clips still there after Pro ends?
Yes. Videos, event clips and photos already recorded stay on the phone until you delete them, or until the app's storage loop reuses the space on a later recording drive. You can still view them, save them to Photos and share them, whether the subscription has expired or not. If the subscription expires while you are driving, Pro stays on until that drive ends.
How do I subscribe?
Go to Cài đặt › Gói Pro › Nâng cấp (Settings › Pro › Upgrade), or So sánh Miễn phí và Pro (compare Free and Pro), while the vehicle is stopped. The subscription page is not shown while the vehicle is moving.
The monthly plan renews automatically every month. The price is shown in the App Store or Google Play, and on the subscription page, before you confirm. The full conditions are in section 7 of the Terms.
Restoring a purchase
Use this after changing phones, after reinstalling the app, or when Pro does not show even though you subscribed:
- Sign in to the phone with the same Apple ID or Google account that bought the subscription.
- Go to Cài đặt › Gói Pro (Settings › Pro) and tap Khôi phục giao dịch (Restore purchases).
A subscription bought on iPhone does not work on Android, or the other way round, because the app has no account of its own.
Cancelling the subscription
You can cancel at any time. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one. After you cancel, Pro stays available until the end of the period you paid for. During the 7-day trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged; depending on the store, Pro may end as soon as you cancel.
iPhone:
- Open the iPhone Settings app.

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Refunds
Apple and Google process payments, so refunds follow their policies:
- App Store: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play: request one under Google Play's refund policy.
You can also email us for guidance.
External dashcam
The app can connect to a compatible Wi-Fi dashcam, over the camera's own Wi-Fi network, to view and copy its photos and videos to the phone. Open Camera rời (External camera) on the home screen.
If your camera does not connect, you can still import its clips from the Files app (for example with an SD-card reader) or from Photos.
Privacy
The app has no account, no advertising and no tracking. Your video, photos, sound and route stay on your phone and are never sent.
The only exception is Chia sẻ dữ liệu biển báo (Share sign data), part of the Terms of Use. It is on by default once you accept the terms on first launch; if you had already declined it before, it stays off. You can turn it off at any time in Settings › Biển báo & tốc độ › "Chia sẻ dữ liệu biển báo", free of charge, whatever your plan; turning it off stops sending and deletes the signs not yet sent. When it is on, the app sends our server the speed signs the camera read with certainty: the sign's type and value, its position rounded to about 11 m, the direction of travel, and the date. It sends at most once a day, with no name, account or device identifier, and never signs within 300 m of where a drive starts or ends. The purpose is better speed-sign data for every user. Details are in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
